Bandcamp Friday Roundup: Ladybug Music Festival 2024 Edition
Now that the ‘cat’s out of the bag’ we can geek out about featuring World-ouring and Philadelphia-based post ska band Catbite as the headliner for the annual Wilmington Ladybug Music Festival. In this special edition Ladybug Music Festival Bandcamp Friday Roundup, we gathered some tunes from some of the ladies featured in this years’ festival to give fans and concert goers a peek into what to look forward to on May 31 in Wilmington, Delaware.
Catbite
They’re celebrating returning from their recent world tour with a 4th vinyl pressing of their 2021 album NICE ONE. This deluxe edition includes 3 new CATFITE and 1 new CATLITE songs, reimagined art, and inner sleeve. Available on green and orange swirl with black splatter. Miss Cantaloupe
Miss Cantaloupe is a Philadelphia-based Indie dream-pop band. Their musical arrangements, instrumentation, and stage presence are perfect for laying on a blanket in the park on the sunniest of summer days. Listen to their latest full length album Lemon Bops & Melon Drops and catch their fanciful performance also on the Main Stage at 5pm!
Karina Daza
New York-based latin pop artist Karina Daza makes her Ladybug Festival debut with a brave and inspiring anthem. Their 2021 single ‘Mujeres Will Riot’ surrounds you with its massive strings, soaring back up choir, and powerful lyrics. Daza switches back and forth between English and Spanish speaking to a wide audience but not forgetting where her roots lie. Proceeds from the song went to Project South, an organization dedicated to helping women survivors get justice. Catch her performance on The 5th Street Stage at 5:20pm.
Jada Lee
Jada Lee is a Philadelphia R&B and hip-hop inspired artist and producer. Their latest release ‘Like That’ is a hefty and dense conversation between the artist and an x lover. She opens up about ignoring red flags but trying to give the benefit of the doubt only to be burned in the end. See her performing live on the Willingtown Square Stage at 6:15pm.
Rose Cora Perry & The Truth Untold
Canadian rockers Rose Cora Perry & The Truth Untold are bringing their power chords, big vocals, and feminine prowess to Wilmington. Their debut album Other Side Of The Story is a diary of lessons learned and brought to life in 5 stories including an acoustic rock version of megastar Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep. Catch their powerhouse and her band performing live at the Crown Stage at the Queen at 7:20pm!
CLOVER
New Jersey-based indie pop artist, producer, and Ladybug Music Festival alumni, CLOVER, is returning to Wilmington for the annual music festival and block party with new music. Released in February of 2024 ‘Beach In The Rain’ transports the listener to a place of solitude and nostalgia as they recount details of memories so long ago they seem like dreams. Welcome CLOVER back to the city by catching their live performance at Merchant Bar at 7:50pm.
