June 18 - The Queen

Philadelphia artist Kurt Vile is a songwriter of epic proportions, evolving a laid-back yet transfixing psychedelic indie rock sound over a career arc that grew from self-released CD-Rs to major-label releases. Vile takes notes from masters like Neil Young, Sonic Youth, and Dinosaur Jr., exploring inventive guitar tones on meditative and sometimes self-reflective songs that often drift at their own deliberate pace. He co-founded the War on Drugs with friend Adam Granduciel in 2005 but quit shortly after the band got off the ground to focus on his own music. His blurry-eyed musings and signature songwriting style broke through to a worldwide audience, and he continued working with a multitude of special guests on his own records as well as co-creating albums with Steve Gunn and Courtney Barnett. Buy tickets to see him at The Queen in Wilmington here.

June 21 - Kennett Flash

Born and raised in Chicago, Nathan Graham meshes South Side Blues with Nashville Americana, beginning his career by backing blues singers at famous haunts like Buddy Guy’s Legends and Kingston Mines. He spent a decade as a guitar-for-hire before picking up a mic to tell his own stories on the stage. He makes his way back to the area with his band on June 21 at Kennett Flash in Kennett Square. For more information and tickets visit kennettflash.com.

June 22 - The Queen

Celebrate Pride in Wilmington with a festival full of music, fun, and drag queens, including local vendors and party vibes! The music night lineup includes performances by cupcakKe, Aluna and UNIIQU3, with DJ Shady Lady, DJ Carl Michaels, and a special performance by Glitter and Garbage Cabaret! June 27 -  Arden Gild Hall

Indiana-born artist Strand Of Oaks makes his way to Delaware with his special blend of cosmic Americana music on the Arden Shady Grove Stage on June 27. He’ll be performing songs solo from his recently released 8th studio album Miracle Focus. “The idea of Miracle Focus was born out of one simple concept: to make people feel good. Throw in a healthy mix of Ram Dass, yoga, Freddie Mercury, Alice Coltrane, and Beastie Boys, plus over a year of writing and building the extremely dense architecture of the songs, and Miracle Focus was born.” says Oaks. Come early to this ‘WXPN Welcomes’ event and catch local favorite James Everhart from Cosmic Guilt opening the show with a vulnerable and intimate solo performance. Tickets available for purchase here.

June 29 - The Listening Booth

J.D. Webb and the Good God Damn are a gritty, dynamic, and captivating 5-piece band that brings a fresh energy to the modern day Americana scene. Forming in the wake of founder and principal songwriter Jason “J.D.” Webb’s 2023 EP release “Royal St. Ann Burgundy”, The Good God Damn band is a testament to grit and soul as conveyed by howling lead vocals, sweeping violin and lead guitar, rolling keys, and gripping rhythm section. Whether performing their own original compositions or putting a unique spin on a selection of covers, J.D. Webb & The Good God Damn delivers nothing short of an unforgettable musical experience laden with skillful instrumentation, and an undeniably infectious energy. General admission and VIP tickets to see them at The Listening Booth can be purchased now here.

June 30 - Kennett Flash

On his second album The Fatalist, Buffalo Nichols does things with the blues that might catch you off guard. There’s 808 programming, chopped up Charley Patton samples, washes of synth, and more. After selling out Kennett Flash in 2023, he’s returning as a trio and with Philadelphia artist and activist Samantha Rise as support. Get tickets to see him on June 30 in Kennett Square here.
