The recent passing of iconic musicians like Sinead O’Connor and Robbie Robertson from The Band serve as reminders to listen to and cherish musicians while we have them on this Earth. We’ve got some local and regional artists to share that could use the support so they continue spreading the stories and music that connects us all.

Check out this month's Bandcamp Friday roundup to listen and support some of your favorites on one of the best days in music. For anyone unaware, Bandcamp Friday is when the online record store and music community, Bandcamp, dedicates the earnings made on that day to waiving their fees. This results in more money going directly to the artists who deserve it. Stop by and spread a little local love and support if you enjoy it.

Red Birds
Elkton, Maryland based folk band Red Birds released a 10 song album in July titled, Tell Me Lies, full of grunge, grit, and beauty. The album was recorded in 2022 by Sam Williamson and mixed and mastered by Mike Koh. The band has the album available digitally and on CD on their Bandcamp site. Mic Anthony
One third of Dover Delaware rap trio Cypher Clique, Mic Anthony, has a solo EP, She’s Lost Bro (Chopped and Screwed), out for the local hip-hop heads listening pleasure. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop by supporting the local scene and purchase your digital copy of this four song EP to stream as much as you like.
Milieu Lust
Delaware native, Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter Milieu Lust has found time in between their many bands for a double release, Longing/Hummingbird. With lots of friends featured on the two tracks and enough feeling and emotion for any indie dream-pop fan. These songs provide a current snapshot into the heart and life of the artist. Musicians featured include Russ Israel, Paige Walter, Brian Bruce, Samuel Nobles, and Herb Quick.
Pleasance
Wilmington based indie-folk artist Pleasance’s, self-titled debut EP dropped into the universe August 11. On the artist’s Bandcamp profile is a heartfelt description of where the artist was mentally and emotionally during the writing and production of the collection of music, creating a more personal and relatable experience for any listener caring to get more intimate. Recorded in Jamland Studios in Wilmington Delaware, Pleasance is a four song EP packed with lots of emotion and self growth.
Soul Chalice
Delaware Hip-Hop and Funk Rock fusion band Soul Chalice’s debut album Enter The Game is now available digitally and on CD! Along with their nine-song album the four-piece band has stickers on their site through Dover based indie music label Sound Pitch Entertainment.
Mark S Reeve
Hiss ‘N’ Hum is a 11 song album from Mark S Reeve, one fourth of Soul Chalice. Recorded with Jason ‘Face’ Guajardo from Sound Pitch Entertainment and is a blend of rock, rap, blues and soul. Get a digital copy or buy a CD from their site today!
